Apex Village is a small, intimate residential care home in Jamestown, NC — where professional care is woven into the fabric of daily life, not the other way around.
Most care facilities are designed around operational efficiency. Apex Village is designed around the people who live here. With 8–12 residents, staff know each person — their routines, their preferences, the things that make a good day feel good.
The research on small-home residential care models is consistent: smaller settings produce measurably better health outcomes. We've built Apex Village around those findings from the ground up.
"Aging should feel supported, not supervised."
At Apex Village, the people who show up learn your loved one's routines and stay. That consistency isn't just comforting — it's clinically meaningful. Earlier detection of changes, fewer complications, fewer hospitalizations.
Apex Village is licensed under North Carolina's Multi-Unit Assisted Housing with Services (MUAHS) model. This means Apex Village provides housing and a supportive residential environment. Personal care services are arranged separately — Apex Care at Home, our licensed home care agency, is available as a convenient, familiar option.
Housing charges and care charges are always billed separately. Your choice of care provider has no effect on your rent.

Every resident has a private or semi-private room. Every meal is home-cooked. Every day has structure — and room for the things that matter most to each person.
Research on small-home residential care models consistently shows better health outcomes than large institutional settings. Smaller staff-to-resident ratios, lower turnover, and more direct care hours create conditions where problems are caught earlier — and complications are far less common.
Residents in small-home models are significantly less likely to develop bedsores — one of the most serious infection risks for older adults in long-term care.
Catheter use is a leading cause of life-threatening infection in elderly residents. Small-home settings show dramatically lower rates, tied directly to more attentive, consistent care.
Small-home models average twice as many direct care hours per resident — meaning earlier detection of health changes and fewer hospitalizations overall.
Statistics reflect published research on small-home residential care models. Individual outcomes vary.
Personal care services at Apex Village are arranged separately through licensed home care providers. Apex Care at Home — our affiliated home care agency — is available as a convenient, familiar option and is vetted to the same rigorous standards we apply to everyone who works in this home.
Lower caregiver turnover and more direct care hours are the mechanism behind better outcomes in small-home settings. Care providers who know a resident well notice when something is off. That early awareness is what keeps small complications from becoming big ones.

Apex Village is designed for families navigating the later stages of the aging journey — when staying home is no longer the safest option, but a large facility doesn't feel right either.
If your loved one isn't quite ready for residential care, Apex Care at Home provides in-home support that can bridge the gap — with the same team you'd eventually work with here.
